Battle of Rome VIII

Lastnight I went with my friend Nelson Bigles to photograph the MMA event "Battle of Rome VIII" at the Forum in Rome, Ga. It was definitely a great experience getting to see and photograph a MMA event for my first time. Hopefully I'll get another chance to do it again. Here's a sequence shot I put together from one of the professional fights.

Chick-Fil-A Bowl NYE

The Chick-Fil-A Bowl went well. We started a little after 11 o'clock Thursday morning and finished around 11:30; with 30 mins to spare until midnight. We coverd the parade, fan zone, tailgate party, and the game. Special thanks to Jayne Bleisch for helping out. Here are a few shots I got from that day.

More photos from the visit can be viewed on the Chick-fil-A Bowl website HERE.

UT & VT Aquarium Visit

Sunday Jayne Bleisch and I went to the Georgia Aquarium to cover Tennessee and Virginia Tech's visit. It was a great experience and the teams seemed to have a good time. Here's a shot from that night.

Chick-fil-A Bowl Assignment Update

Here's an update on what Chick-fil-A Bowl assignments I have done so far. Saturday I went with Paul Abell to assist him with shooting the Tennessee football seniors and head coach Lane Kiffin at Decatur High School. Here's a shot I got of the team practicing.

Upcoming Assignments

Paul Abell whom I interned with this past Spring & Summer offered me the experience to help him photograph some events for the Chick-fil-a Bowl. This will be the third time I've assisted Paul on a Chick-fil-a event. This past Spring, I assisted Paul with the Chick-fil-a challenge where I got the chance to shoot this image of Steve Spurrier and Sterling Sharpe receiving the trophy after winning the tournament.

I also assisted Paul with the Chick-fil-a bowl kick-off game this past August.

Saturday I will be helping Paul photograph the Seniors of the Tennessee football team and possibly some action shots of them practicing at Georgia Tech. Sunday I will be photographing both the Virginia Tech and Tennessee football teams visiting the Georgia Aquarium. Thursday I will be helping Paul cover the Chick-fil-a bowl game and the event prior to the game.

I will try to post some stuff after Saturday or Sunday.

New Look

Unless you're a first time visitor, you might see my blog has a new look. I've been trying to come up with something different for both my blog and website. The website has been really hard to get figured out. I'm pretty much learning to use Adobe Flash from scratch and creating a full flash site. Who knows I might just end up using livebooks, but for now I'm just using deviantArt for my online portfolio.

Feedback and suggestions are definitely appreciated.

New Online Portfolio

Today I made a online portfolio with deviantART. I would really like to have a website up and runnning but lack the money to get it created. I figured making a portfolio on deviantART would be the best way to go since they came up with the portfolio feature. Hopefully this will help me out while I'm on the job hunt.

Nikon Debuts D3s

Yesterday Nikon debut the new D3s. The megapixels have stayed the same from the D3 at 12mp. It has 720 dpi HD video at 24 fps. There is also a new ISO Sensitivity of 12800 with a record breaking top ISO of 102,400, which I think is incredible. Of course there are people that are complaining about it not being 1080 dpi at 30 fps but i think is good considering Nikon's video experience compared to Canon or Sony.

Here's the first two video released.

The Latest

I haven't posted in awhile. I've kinda neglected this blog and my camera lately. Last month I finished the Gwinnett Technical College Photography Program. August 12th, I had a portfolio show at ART Station in Stone Mountain, Ga with my fellow photography students. I really had a blast getting to discuss and share my work with people. The work will be up until the end of this month, so go check it out if you haven't already.

Chick-fil-A Kick-Off Game

Two weeks ago I went to help Paul Abell shoot the Chick-fil-A Kick Off Game Alabama vs Virginia Tech. I spent all day shooting all of the events leading up to the game. It was quite the experience I figured it would be. Being down on the field, you could feel the energy of the crowd. Here are a few shots I got during the game.

Aaron In Iraq

So one of my best friends Aaron Raley that I've know since middle school joined the marines last year. I'm really proud of him and for the choice that he made to serve our country. He just got shipped off to Iraq two weeks ago. He's a Motor Transport Operator which operates and drives personnel and cargo throughout Iraq. He started a blog just a few days ago, which I think is great. Check it out and show him some love and support. My Life In Iraq

Here's a shot I got of him during a Time Trial at the Georgia Cup in 2006. I'm sure he misses riding his bike.

Hurricane Bill Swell

This past weekend I went on a surf trip with the Atlanta Surf Posse to St Augustine, Fl to surf the swell from Hurricane Bill. I didn't spend as much time photographing that I wanted to but here are a few shots.
